His relationship with his clients extends far beyond just portfolio management. It includes decisions that have far-reaching impacts on their lives on matters such as retirement planning, risk management, estate planning, charitable giving and tax mitigation.
As a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Gary has successfully completed advanced investment management consulting coursework provided through The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Gary has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He and his business partner, Dan Kramer, moved their team to Raymond James in 2018, attracted by the firm’s conservative, long-term approach, client-first focus, and culture in which all associates work to do what’s best for the client.
Every year since joining Raymond James, Gary has been named as a member of the Raymond James Chairman’s Council**, a privilege limited to a select few. Previously in his career, Gary was a managing director with Wells Fargo and a vice president with Morgan Stanley.
In 2021, Gary was selected to join Raymond James’ Change Leadership Council. The Council is a select group of the firm’s Financial Advisors who work directly with corporate leaders to represent branch perspectives and shape effective rollout of branch-facing changes and strategy.
Gary is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations. He served as a member of the university’s alumni and parent admission program for nine years.
Despite his busy schedule, Gary has a long tenure of making time for worthy organizations. Gary also serves on the Friends of MVYRadio Board of Directors. MVYRADIO aspires to reflect Martha’s Vineyard and the region in music, news, culture and community. MVYRADIO embraces its local, regional and worldwide roots through its independent format, and uses contemporary media and community engagement to enrich the lives of our audience. In his free time, Gary enjoys golfing, skiing, hiking, traveling and listening to live music.
† The 2024 Forbes ranking of America’s Top Wealth Management Teams Best-In-State, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. This ranking is based upon the period from 3/31/2022 to 3/31/2023 and was released on 01/09/2024. Advisor teams that are considered must have one advisor with a minimum of seven years of experience, have been in existence as a team for at least one year, have at least 5 team members, and have been nominated by their firm. The algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 10,100 team nominations, 4,100 advisor teams received the award based on thresholds. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor's future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients' experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or Shook Research, LLC.
